O’Connor Joins Vitolano to Strengthen NYC Site/Civil Consulting

When Langan expanded to the Bay Area a year ago this month, the New York office site/civil practice leader moved to San Francisco, where the firm has successfully integrated that discipline with well-established geotechnical and environmental services. Since then the leadership of Langan’s New York office site/civil group has been assumed by Michele O’Connor and Chris Vitolano.

“At Langan, we collaborate seamlessly among our New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut offices to support projects throughout the entire metro region,” said O’Connor, who re-located from the firm’s corporate headquarters in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. “For the past few years, most of my clients have been on this side of the Hudson River; so being based in mid-town Manhattan full-time improves how my team serves our clients, and allows Chris Vitolano and me to co-lead the growing site/civil practice in the New York office.”

For 25 years, O’Connor has led many high-profile projects in New York City, including the Brooklyn and Bronx Terminal Market Gateway Center retail malls, Hudson Park and Boulevard, Flushing Town Center, the Renovation of City Hall, and many K-12 projects for the NY Schools Construction Authority. Like her site/civil colleagues around the firm, O’Connor appreciates challenging, urban assignments in the Metropolitan region where Langan has been a leader in providing exceptional land development engineering for more than 40 years.

The combination of Langan’s tri-state offices— Manhattan, New Haven, and Elmwood Park—sets the standard for technical excellence and responsiveness in the region, which continues to experience solid growth and expansion. Clients, design firms and numerous City agencies count on Langan for its ability to package multiple disciplines under one roof because it streamlines consultant coordination and brings measurable value to their projects.
